Everyday at 6 pm, our friends from Guided Bucharest help you to know the city with most important stories, facts and legends! The meeting point is at the street clock in Unirii Square, in the small green park in front of the Unirea Shopping Center, next to the fountains. Most likely, you will see a bunch of people that attend this tour and the guide that usually wears an orange t-shirt. Since this is free of charge, donations are appreciated.

EATING IN BUCHAREST

Caru cu Bere

We can only say that eating here is like eating in a palace-museum! You will be amazed by the tasty food, the service and the dances you might catch inside. Caru’ cu Bere, a true living legend and also one of the oldest beerhouse in Bucharest, was opened for the first time in 1879 in the old Zlatari inn and, after 20 years it moved to Stavropoleos Street, where it can be found even today. Nicolae Mircea along with his family, originary from Medias, had a major role in Caru' cu Bere history. He managed along the years to make of Caru' cu Bere one of the most appreciated divertisment places from Bucharest.

Hanul lui Manuc

As important as Caru cu Bere, Manuc Inn is a trademark of Bucharest. Built in Caravanserai style, nowadays is one of the highlights in our city. Great place, great ambiance and delicious food in the historical center of Bucharest! Check more about them on the official site: http://www.hanulluimanuc.ro/

Terasa Doamnei

Entering this place to eat is like taking a step in the country side. Everything here is rustic style. Good food and old traditional music will make your meal a little more special.

Nicoresti Restaurant

Not far from the very city center, you can find more great food for local prices, winery and terrace. An old house redesigned as a restaurant, with traditional dishes and sometimes, music. Check more here: http://www.restaurantnicoresti.ro/

Fabrica Pub

This place was in the past a factory. Now is a very popular and animated place, that all the young people on Bucharest enjoy a lot! The place has more than decent prices for traditional food, but also pizza, pasta and salads. It's a big space with two clubs, one used for live events, one for clubbing, a terrace where you can eat, drink and relax, an inside pub, an indoor skatepark and climbing wall in the back. Also many small cute shops. The place is a little more street artish and we totally recommend since you will spend a little money for good food and drinks!

La Mama Restaurant

Is more like a standard restaurant and we would recommend the one close to Romanian Atheneum since they have a nice terrace garden to eat, chill and relax. Good food and service. Check out more here: http://www.lamama.ro/index.php?lang=en or here: http://www.facebook.com/lamamarestaurant

STOP FOR A DRINK

Underworld Bar, Club &Terrace

Thia is our bar downstairs from the hostel...for sure one of the last ones standing for underground culture and young alternative people. For us is somehow called home since we all use to hang around here since we were teenagers. A small, yet vivid place, where there are no rules, just the common sense. Cheapest drinks in town, free fussball and a small funny crowd almost every evening! We have game days, special offers at the bar, we watch football or we attend here small underground concerts from time to time! Come and see!

Niste Domni si Fiii 1974

Like Underworld is a place for alternative young people. Cheap drinks and usually a lot of fun, not the most quiet place to drink, but for sure funny, easygoing and opened till late! We had small special concerts, we had parties, book releases, we shared laughs or we argued. It's a place that we simply love! Green Hours
On the Victoriei Blvd, you will find this beautiful place for jazz music. Sometimes a live concert or even the International Jazz Festival, sometimes just ambiance music, but always relaxed people and atmosphere! Have a drink, a coffee, share a discussion....More here: http://greenhours.ro/ .

100 Beers

Beer enthusiasts have a nice pub to gather in the old centre of Bucharest. Their distinctive offer? More than 100 different beers. You’ll not only find classical Romanian beers, but some German, Belgian or English ones.
Because it is quite difficult to choose between so many options, I had to ask the bartenders for a tip – they are nice and helpful.
I like the fact that they have affordable prices; you’ll pay just a little bit more than for a regular Romanian beer. The weak point in my opinion is that the menu consists only of beers: if you get hungry, you can only have French fries or sausages. For me that’s not enough.
